The horde of Surtr stands for serious service of the dark forces in the present world and beyond. The name Surtr was chosen because it represents the mayhemic force within the ancient dark powers that lurks in the shadows of our Germanic past. 'Surtr' means 'The black one' in Old-Norse and He is the ruler and guardian of Muspelheim (the realm of fire). By the dawn of Ragnarök He will cut down the tree of life (Yggdrasil) with His radiant sword of fire and lead the dark forces in the final cosmic battle which ends with Him cleansing the worlds with fire by burning them in to ashes. This dark annihilating force is what Surtr personifies both as deity and as a horde of anti-cosmic proclamation through the tool of old school Black Metal.
