‘A hall she saw standing
from the sun far
on Nástrond;
against north faces the door.
Drops of venom fell
through the smoke-hole,
by the backs of snakes
is the room plaited.’

The ignorance concerning the actual background behind some of the symbols I sometimes use make me feel obligated to inform about these. It should have be one time for all, but the stupidity of mankind grows deep, so unfortunately I am sure that this probably won’t be the last time I have to bring up this issue. The Sauvastika is a version of the Swastika, but there is a distinction of opposites between the two. |
|
When the arms bend to the left the Indian tradition loads the symbol with negative aspects. This form is sometimes called Sauvastika and it can be found also in other Indo-European traditions. The implication associated with it can differ a bit though. After serious analysis of Swastika motives in ancient Germanic contexts my conclusion is that the negative meaning of the Sauvastika also applies to the Germanic tradition. | |
